Weekend Recap – July 2nd

Happy Monday! I’m doing something a little different with this weekend recap – rather than have a detailed overview of the weekend, I’m just going to do some highlights from the weekend and share other interesting things that I’ve discovered (recipes, sales, etc).

The weekend started off on the right foot after a fun week – I went to dinner with two of my best friends to celebrate one of their birthdays and it was so fun to catch up with them. It was also a big week for Luke! He started sitting up almost completely on his own, had his first two teeth start to come through, and tried fruits (bananas!) for the first time. He loved them 🙂

Saturday started off like pretty much every Saturday (bottle, coffee + barre) around here… after a VERY early wake up from Luke. I think he’s in a lot of pain from teething because he’s been waking up early and crying really hard, which he normally doesn’t do. I snuck in his room and just sat in the rocker and held him on my chest in the dark and he eventually went back to sleep for little while. Poor little guy just wants ALL the snuggles these days!

After my barre class and a nap for Luke, we headed down to one of my good friend’s son’s second birthday party! It was so fun to celebrate him and catch up with some of our friends while we were there.

(We struggled a bit to get a good picture haha!)

Luke was in major need of a nap and fell asleep as soon we got into the car. We made a pit stop on the way home at a beer & wine store and picked out some summer wines and a few beers from the mix & match section to save and enjoy after Whole30. I love when you can pick out individual cans of beer and try out multiple kinds! Here are the six I picked:

That evening, we needed to run to the grocery store, so we all went as a family and decided to try having Luke sit in the car seat as opposed to bringing in the stroller/carseat combo…he LOVED it!

We also found a “Luke” coke as we were walking by the display haha!

Sunday started with another early wake up from Luke, so I took advantage of the extra snuggles and got up with him. He was still dealing with some teething pain, so to get a change of scenery we decided to all go on a walk to get some fresh air. As soon as we were walking out of the neighborhood, Luke passed out and slept for the entire walk (the blue thing on the right is a stroller fan and it’s AMAZING).

The rest of the morning was spent at the pool in my parents neighborhood. My brother and one of my nephews came over to swim as well and it was so fun to see them swimming and playing with Luke.

We’re back home now and getting ready for the week ahead. Loft is having a big sale that ends soon (40% off everything + an additional 10%). Macy’s is having a 20% off sale for the fourth that is running now through 7/8 (with code FOURTH). J Crew is having 30% off all full priced items with code ALLSTAR. There’s still time to grab a cute outfit for the fourth! If you missed it, I rounded up all of my favorite Amazon options for the 4th here.

Have a great week!

xoxo,

Lauren
