A Letter to My Pre-Baby Self

Dear Pre-Baby Self: Your life is about to change drastically. I know you think you know this, but almost every aspect of your life will be different. You will be tired, but you will survive. Just when you think you can’t function one more minute, you’ll get a burst of energy that pushes you through the day. When you hear those baby cries (screams) in the middle of the night, you will be so groggy you can barely get out of bed, but then you will see your sweet baby and won’t mind snuggling him in the dark while he eats. Grab an extra cup of coffee in the morning…

    Weekend Recap – Easter Weekend

Hi friends! I hope everyone had a great Easter/Passover weekend. We had beautiful weather here in Georgia and it makes me hopeful that these warmer spring temps are here to stay!!   Friday We kicked off the weekend with a date night to a new-to-us restaurant, La Casa Italian Grille. It came recommended to me by a coworker and we’ve been looking for a local Italian joint so it was an easy decision for us when we were deciding where to go. Easy Lemon Cake

I LOVE to bake. Give me an apron, a recipe, and delicious smells coming from my oven and I am h-a-p-p-y. I also have a major sweet tooth, so unfortunately I have to limit the amount that I bake so I can make sure I still fit into my jeans. I definitely am more productive in the morning and over the past few years started having trouble sleeping in past 7:30 so typically get my day started pretty early. However…when that alarm starts beeping right when you are in the middle of a deep sleep cycle and you are nice and cozy in bed, it feels like torture to pry yourself up and get going – especially with a…

    Current Favorite Podcasts

I have a love/hate relationship with Podcasts. I WANT to love them, because generally they are entertaining and I love learning new things across a wide array of information. However, I have trouble focusing unless the podcast really pulls me in or unless I’m doing something where I’m 100% focused on listening (like going for a walk). If I’m driving, cleaning, cooking, etc…it better be really interesting or else I’ll realize 10 minutes later that I haven’t actually heard a word they said and I’m constantly rewinding. The six podcasts below have become my go-tos when I’m working out or driving to work and are a good mix of educational…
