Weekend Update – August 12
Hello, hello! We had a busy weekend and I’m currently parked on the couch to write this blog post, watch a little TV and then head to bed. My nephew’s birthday is on Tuesday and I’m excited to see him and celebrate! I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to take on the week.
I worked from home Friday afternoon so was able to grab Luke before rush hour hit which was so nice. My mom stopped by on her way home and we all played together for a bit before Blake got home. Luke has started pulling up on everything and only wants to be standing when you play with him – it’s so exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time!
Luke fell asleep halfway through his bottle Friday night, so woke up around 3:00am wanting some milk. I gave him a bottle (and soaked up some middle of the night cuddles) and he went back down until almost 6 which feels like sleeping in these days! I was able to catch a barre class (due to traveling and our schedules, I hadn’t been able to go for almost two weeks) and it felt so good to sweat it out. By the time I was back and showered, Luke was up from his nap and we all hopped in the car and ran to Home Depot.
Unfortunately our garbage disposal bit the dust Friday morning, so we went to look at some new models and picked up a few other things we needed. We swung by a local sandwich shop and bakery afterwards to grab lunch and Luke loved sitting with us and playing with toys (and dropping them on the ground over and over).
He fell asleep on the way home so we took advantage of the situation and ran an errand to pick up a bridal shower gift I had purchased online earlier in the week. We got home and he slept for another hour and a half while we did some laundry. We had to run to Lowe’s that afternoon, and he ended up falling asleep again on the way home – he just needed some extra sleep I guess! We ordered take out (Thai!) and had some rose before heading to bed.
Sunday morning started off with a quick coffee run (cold brew for me, regular coffee for Blake) and lots of practice standing up. My mom stopped by again for a bit and brought me the most darling little bee necklace that will be perfect for Georgia Tech games! How cute??
Sunday afternoon we went to visit one of my best friends, Kyle, and her husband and puppy! I hadn’t had a chance to meet their adorable puppy and we wanted to introduce Luke to her as well. He seemed so confused at first but then LOVED her and wanted to be on her level and touch her so badly! She is a bundle of energy so we had to hold both of them but it was definitely love at first sight! Now I’m trying to convince Blake that we need a puppy too…
Blake smoked a brisket on the egg all day and made homemade Texas toast so we are about to dig in and take it easy for the rest of the night! Have a great week, friends!
xoxo
